The Business of the
Meeting
The primary decision-making
body is the Meeting for Worship with a Concern for
Business, sometimes known as Meeting for Business, which
generally meets once a month except for the summer months.
All members of the Meeting are expected to
participate in this decision-making process. Regular attenders, too, are encouraged
to be part of this process.
Day-to-day activities of the Meeting are undertaken both by
appointed officers - for example, clerk, recording clerk, treasurer
- and by committees made up of Meeting members.

Committees
Much of the Meeting's work is performed within a committee structure.
Meeting committees not only carry out routine business, but also have a
forward-looking function, preparing the recommendations that are brought for decision to Meeting for Business.
All adult members who are able are expected to serve on committees. The broad range of members' interests and
expertise is a source of great benefit to the Meeting. At the same time, committees give members an opportunity
to be active in areas that are important to them but also to build friendships with fellow committee members.
A sample of current committees includes:
- Community Care and Contact
- Worship and Ministry
- Religious Education
- Property
- Library
- Finance
- Peace and Social Concerns
